American Pie - 1999 (4 stars)
It's a solid short movie. It's curious that Stifler made such an impact based on this one movie as he's memorable but he doesn't outright steal the film. He's not half the massive obnoxious jerk I expected him to be.

Chris Klien is an astonishingly bad actor.

American Pie 2 - 2001 (3 stars)
This wasn't as bad as I expected. I remembered this being very baggy with too many characters shoehorned into too slight a plot. Although a little aimless it wasn't as randomly scattershot and overlong as I my memory suggested. Having said that though, the Chris Klein and Mena Suvari characters and their subplot are grafted on and add less than zero to the film. Klien at least has improved as an actor and now speaks up.

The glue joke was the highlight of the film.

American Pie The Wedding - 2003 (5 stars)
By far the best of the films. It's much more ruder and cruder than what has gone before. It's also much more cinematic looking. The previous films look like TV but this one is shot in a wider widescreen format, the frames more cramped with detail and lit with much more subtlety. It's a significantly better looking film.

My memory was that they cut a lot of characters from the previous films. Turns out only Klein, Suvari and Tara Reid are missing from the main cast. The characters Nadia, Sherman and Jessica (the wise girl) are the only notable absences from the supporting cast. Obviously some of the main cast members have been downgraded to supporting cast in this film.

The classic, crude, offensive Stifler of legend at last makes an appearance. His language and behaviour in this film is a lot more extreme.

Once I eventually placed January Jones as the actress from Mad Men I was very distracted whenever she was on screen. It's very odd to see classy, cold Mrs Don Draper in a crude teen comedy.

I've always cringed at Stifler's speech to the florist. I now realise that he's quoting the lacrosse coach from the first film and that you haven't scored until you've scored is not a stupid thing to say to get her to redo her destroyed work.

I rate the third film as one of my favourite comedies of all time.

so cheap, unbeleivable

great box set of american pie dvds. what more can i say, i love the films and they were so cheap, great delivery time and great packaging.

Brillinant box set
Rating:4

This is a brilliant boxset which i can watch over and over again. I love american pie from the first to the very last. One little problem i had with the product is that american pie 2 was on the american pie: the wedding disc and vice versa.

The original three are still the best!
Rating:5

Bought this box set because the originals made me laugh out loud... regularly. I was not disppointed - still brilliant 5 years on. Now enjoy them with my teenage son and try not to be too much like Jim's Dad!
