Bruce Weber 5 Disc Boxset [2008] - Let's Get Lost, Chop Suey, A Letter To True, Broken Noses [DVD] (Metrodome - 2008-11-03) 5 Discs (362 minutes) Region: 2 - Suitable for 15 years and over Usually dispatched within 24 hours Customer Reviews (Average 4.0 from 6) : movie rating Rating:5 good all round Bruce Weber films bocumentrys and everything inbetween of his career the artists models and people he met and delt with filmed and fell for brilliant collection Rating:5 For a long time the production company of these films weren't able to clear the rights or for some other reason these films where not available to everybody. So now I can chuck out the bad quality VHS copies of rare foreign broadcasts of these films. It is a perfect set of films and also included is a wonderful booklet with Weber's stills. It is really amazing to have a set this complete and of great quality image- and soundwise, but also the way the fold-out box is designed and presented is very attractive. This is very good value for a collection of filmed works of art that are so seldom seen. The films, including the extra's with a lot of shorts, are of great beauty, gorgeous photography and design. Not only his well-known Chet Baker film is impressive, but the others are of equal stature. The documentaries and fiction works; they are done very fashionable (would use the term sexy in most cases) in ways of lightning, editing, use of (often jazz) music, so it can be a matter of taste as well. But they create a romantic atmosphere of great melancholy and nostalgia; a Weber world. Tiptop A must have for any Bruce Weber Fan! Rating:5 Long awaited DVD release of Bruce Weber's film and documentary work. There are a few short films missing like 'Backyard Movie' and one or two short films and music videos....let's hope he will release those at a later stage. All in all, a very great collection for Bruce Weber admirers. worth having a look... Rating:3 If you are interested in Bruce Weber's work, you should buy it! I found it interesting, especially the documentary on Chet Baker. I wouldn't consider it fantastic, or a must, still interesting. Enjoy it! Finally, the whole spectrum....... Rating:5 sweet, sentimental, romantic, artistic and even finally managed to get rid of the early coyness in the frank & honest Chop Suey Club. the whole spectrum of the Bruce Weber aura that got a whole generation of boys mesmerized are now in whole. definitely worths all the waiting (since 1987 in fact, hehehhe..)!!! |
