On his way home, he is hit by an automobile. Though he emerges unhurt, the car has lost a vital bit of equipment -- a suitcase stuffed with money. The young man drags the suitcase home, mistaking it for his own luggage. Meanwhile the man entrusted with the money (it was the railroad-company payroll) is accused of thievery. Through a series of 'only in the movies' coincidences, the wrongfully accused man is cleared, the money is recovered, and the hero is lavishly rewarded for his honesty. SCREENED/AWARDED AT: BAFTA Awards, Customer Reviews (Average 3.5 from 2) : Empty suitcase nicely dressed up Rating:2 I remember this series from when it was first shown on television and loved it then. But I was ten years old, and let that be my excuse. I agree with everyone that Richard Bradford's acting is first class, but I also agree with Richard Bradford that this is a series marred by very poor story-lines and lousy performances from the majority of the remaining cast. Apparently, the mood on the set was lousy, too. Otherwise, the camerawork, the picture quality and the whole presentation of this box set is excellent. It's all a great shame because it could have been so much better with some really good script writing, but this is most certainly not the equivalent of The Prisoner, as some would like you to believe. Still, it's almost worth watching for the sake of Bradford's performances alone and the whole atmosphere of those times. better extras than the uk version. Rating:5 I just wanted to let viewers know that this ,region free, version has 4 commentaries and a few introductions that the uk doesent have .Also the interview with richard bradford is ,so ive heard, a different one than the uk although about the same length(36:24).The only thing that is missing is the booklet, but overall a better package. |
